I’m a 30-year-old adoptive mama. I’m lots of other things too, but that’s a lot of what I’m writing about here in this blog.
I’m married to Non-Sequitor Girl (NSG), an intuitive, generous, and exceedingly goofy woman. We’ve been together since 2000.
Our son, Roo, was born on July 28th, 2006 to family that couldn’t provide the life they wanted for him. They chose us to parent him; we adopted him on August 2nd.
Open, domestic, transracial adoption was our first choice for building our family. The path wasn’t always easy, but I’m grateful that we took it.
I’m starting to figure out that easy is usually beside the point.
If you’ve followed me over here from my old blog, I’m glad you’re here. I’m trying to maintain my family’s privacy better than I did at the old digs, so if you know our names or where we live, please humor me and don’t use that information in your comments.
And if you know me and you found this site without getting the address from me, please: never ever ever tell me you found this site. I don’t want to know, and no, I’m not kidding. I’ve password protected some posts that were originally open posts for this reason. If you’d like the password, please email me and tell me even just a little about why you’re interested (unless I already know you in blogland) and I’ll give you the password.
Here’s how to get in touch with me off the blog: anelephantsgestation (at) hotmail (dot) com.
